Nicolas Berbigier graduated from the École Polytechnique in Paris. He then went on to specialize in Finance and Economics at ENSAE (École Nationale de la Statistique et de l’Administration Publique), one of the most prestigious higher education institutions in France. In 1996, Nicolas moved to England and completed a Master of Science at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

He is a serial entrepreneur: he created his first company SAGEFO when he was still a student. The company was using RFID to manage and track timber in West Africa. He continued his career as a strategy consultant at A.T.Kearney focusing on the Telecom Industry where he worked on key accounts including Orange. In 2000, he co-founded his second start up Karavel, the first online package tour operator in France. Karavel withstood the dotcom bust and grew to have a $400 million turnover and employ 600 people. He sold Karavel to Opodo in 2005, and moved to China. There he replicated the success of Karavel and launched the clic and mortar travel agency Xanadu, which sells holidays all over the world to the Chinese consumer.

In 2010, Nicolas Berbigier co-founded FAMOCO with Lionel Baraban in Beijing. As president, he also oversees the product development and technology strategy of the company. Today, FAMOCO is the emerging leader of Android transactional devices and has deployed more than 100,000 devices in over 25 countries. As such they develop and deploy solutions ranging from Mobile workforce management to Mobile payment solutions. In particular, Famoco and the World Food Program of the United Nations are jointly developing a digital food voucher solution literally revolutionizing the NGO world and enabling the distribution of food and basic necessities to millions of refugees and migrants.

Captain Jérôme Chardon is an active-duty Navy officer, Head Planning Cell at the Navy headquarters, since September 2018. His career has been balanced between embarked, staff and diplomatic postings. He acquired operational experience from 1998 to 2003, in the Indian Ocean (North and South), the Mediterranean Sea and off the western coast of Africa. In addition to various postings in Paris focused on strategic and military analysis related to the Indopacific region, including Head of Asia-Pacific Bureau at the Directorate General for International Relations and Strategy from 2014 to 2018, he was appointed Naval Attaché in China and Non Resident Defence Attaché for Cambodia from 2008 to 2011.

Besides, Captain Chardon has developed an expertise in the field of environmental security and is teaching at the Paris-Dauphine University since September 2018. He is in charge of the module in “Environmental security geostrategic issues” within the Master 2 in “Sustainable development & Organizations”.

Captain Chardon graduated from the French Naval Academy (1995-1998, Lanvéoc-Poulmic) and the U.S. Naval Command College (2014 – Newport, Rhode Island). He was awarded a senior military studies degree from the French War College (21st class). He will attend the National Defense High Studies Institute  “Maritime issues and strategies” national session 2019-2020.

He also completed a degree in Chinese at the Eastern Languages and Civilizations National Institute (2003-2006, Paris). He was distinguished Knight of the Legion of Honour and Knight of the National Order of Merit for his service and received various decorations: National Defence Gold Medal, French Commemorative Medal (for Afghanistan) and Nation’s Gratitude Medal (for Afghanistan).

Graduated from Hong Kong Baptist University, majoring in Cinema and Television, Chow Chi-Kwong has been working for non-government organizations to write and direct short films with and for children and teenagers. He now takes part in various productions such as promotional videos, music videos, webisodes and educational videos.

His works have been shown in international film festivals, such as Mong Kok II Purple, shortlisted for short films in Sound and Image Challenge International Festival 2015; First Love Limited Edition, nominated for Best Short Film in Marbella International Film Festival 2014; Quickery and Slowery, Official Selection in TIFF Kids International Film Festival 2013 and other children film festivals. His students’ works have also been awarded in film festivals such as ifva, Hong Kong Mobile Film Festival and China Campus TV Festival.

He recently started working as Media officer at Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups Media 21, responsible for short film production and multi-media related projects.

Edouard Courtial was born in 1973, went to school in Clermont and Compiègne but grew up in Agnetz, a town in which his father was the mayor since 1989.

He studied economics and management at Paris-Dauphine University and obtained a master degree at ESSEC business school. Between 1999 and 2001 he worked as a financial auditor for Ernst & Young and Cap Gemini as strategy consultant.

By 2002, he decided to serve his fellow citizens and run for constituency in the 7th district of Oise Department where he is deeply rooted. At the age of 28, he has been elected at the French National Assembly, and was the youngest member of parliament in France. The next year, after his father passed away, he followed his career and became Mayor of Agnetz city in 2003 where he has been re-elected in 2007.

Later on, in 2012 he has been re-elected against the President of the Regional Council and former Mayor of the biggest town of the district, Clermont.

After he won the Oise Department Council Presidency in 2015, he had to step down from his Mayor position to comply with the new French law.

Former Secretary of State in charge of French nationals abroad, between 2011 and 2012, he is still member of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the French National Assembly and chairs Estonia, Colombia and Lithuania Friendship groups.

Deeply committed to his political family, Edouard Courtial has been in charge of local federations of his party and is currently political advisor of former French President, Nicolas Sarkozy.

Nicolas Houzé was born on 16 March 1975. He is a graduate of INSEAD.

Nicolas Maubert teaches French contract law as well as an introductory class to Chinese business law at CENTRALE-SUPELEC engineer school in Paris.

When he is not at the Court of justice, one may find him at the new Philharmonic hall in Paris. Indeed, Nicolas Maubert is a Choir member of Paris’ Orchestra and sings, as baritone, the great symphony repertoire. While he favors classical music in his music practice, he also enjoys very much other music styles. Together with his jazz pianist friend Dominique Fillon, he has just set up a music festival in south of France.

Starting from 2015, ANTVR began collaboration with Lenovo, OnePlus, Hisense, and other global smartphone companies by launching co-branding products which were highly appreciated by the users all over the world. And in this year, the collaboration with 360 Huajiao Live opened the era of mobile VR live. Qin Zheng was awarded as “China’s 100 Most Creative People in Business” by Fast Company, “Forbes China 30 under 30” by Forbes, “Person of the Year” by China Internet Weekly, and “Zhongguancun High-end Talent in 2015” by Administrative Committee of Zhongguancun.

Matthieu Quyollet serves as Chief of Staff of the Chairman of SNCF’s Executive Board and Chairman and CEO of SNCF Mobilités.

Managing the Office of the Chairman and CEO, Matthieu supports him in all aspects of his job and is specifically in charge of identifying issues that could impact the successful execution of the CEO’s commitments, as well as supporting him regarding the Board meetings and Executive meetings, and assisting the executive team’s communications with the CEO. He also provides advice and supports in areas of relationships with external parties, including Institutions.

An alumnus of the Institut d’Etudes politiques de Paris and École Nationale d’Administration, he began his career at France’s Paris Administrative Court, where he served as judge.

He went on to work on the staff of the French National Assembly, as legal advisor and later as Deputy Chief of Staff of the President of the National Assembly, Claude Bartolone. In 2016, he was appointed Chief of Staff. His primary mission was to monitor the internal reforms in the National Assembly. He also worked on issues related to the improvement of the legislative process and the modernization of French institutions and was co-rapporteur of the parliamentary working group on the future of the democratic institutions co-presided by Claude Bartolone and the famous historian, Michel Winock.

He is also a lecturer at Sciences Po Paris. He has published several legal articles and studies as well as philosophical papers.

Thomas Reynaud is now the Chief Executive Officer of the Iliad Group. He was the CFO of Iliad, the 3rd French telecom operator with over 18 million subscribers. For the past 9 years Thomas has been supporting Iliad in its role as the ‘maverick’ of the French Telecom sector. He supervised the launch of the new mobile operator, Free Mobile, that revolutionised the French market. His role was to structure the Group’s growth by progressing in just a few years not only from 4 million subscribers to 18 million in 2016, but also from 2 000 employees in 2007 to over 8 000 today.

Before Iliad, Thomas began his finance career in New York in 1997 working on debt-structuring. He then became Managing Director in charge of the Telecoms, Media and Technology sector at Société Générale, where he advised European Companies with regards to their development. Indeed, he oversaw many IPO, privatisation and capital increase transactions.

Thomas is a true Parisian, though he does have solid Breton roots and takes great pleasure in returning to the Gulf of Morbihan every summer. He is also passionate about History, with a particular interest for the French Revolution. Thomas enjoys participating in mountain bike races, playing soccer and even running a marathon from time to time – despite not training enough to do so in less than 3 hours and 30 minutes thus far; one day maybe!!

In his spare time, Thomas supports Scholavie for Positive Education and is on the board of the Fondation Mozaïk that fights for diversity and equal chances in France. He is also a partner of Tomato-n-co, a revolutionary organic vegetable garden concept for individuals and restaurants.

Thomas Reynaud graduated from HEC and New York University. He also attended History lessons at the Sorbonne and Political Science ones at Science Po Paris, just for pleasure. Moreover, he gained a lot from two long trips to India in his youth.

Antoine TESNIERE is specialized in Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, and has a full time position at European Hospital Georges Pompidou, APHP, the most recent University Hospital in Paris.

He is the co-founder and CEO of iLumens, a university-based simulation center at University Sorbonne Paris Cité. iLumens is an innovative simulation department that develops new training and research programs using all simulation modalities and virtual environments (serious games) for every healthcare professional. iLumens is expanding internationally through a wide variety of training and research programs.

Antoine TESNIERE is also Dean for Medical Education at Paris Descartes Medical School, the largest French medical school, and Vice Director of the Doctoral Program « Frontiers in Life Sciences » at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research, University Paris Descartes, one of the most innovative PhD programs based on interdisciplinarity. He recently became scientific advisor for the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation.

Antoine TESNIERE was trained at University Paris Descartes and Harvard Medical School. He holds an MD, from University Paris Descartes, and a PhD in tumor immunology, from University Paris Sud.

Yorgo Tloupas is a French-Greek Art director and designer, based in Paris. In 1998 he started his career with the launch of Crash magazine, and since then has been working for a wide variety of clients in different fields, from Lacoste, Kenzo and Yves Saint Laurent, to Kamel Mennour, Absolut Vodka, Martell, Cartier and Hennessy.

In 2001, together with Rankin and Dan Ross, he launched Intersection Magazine in London, now published in 10 different editions worldwide, from France to Germany and Russia.

In 2010, whilst redesigning the French edition of GQ, his team won the french Hardcourt Bike Polo Championships. Sadly in the following years they struggled to reach even 8th place…

He launched the french Edition of Vanity Fair in 2013, then in 2014, he created the template for the Louis Vuitton Magazine.

In 2015, he redesigned Liberation’s Next magazine, and coordinated the newspaper’s typographic renewal.

Today he is the co-owner of Black Crows skis, and runs the Yorgo&co design studio, working with his team on global visual identities for Martell, Artcurial, Ricard, and art directing Loro Piana’s new campaign, amongst others.

Karine Lisbonne de Vergeron is Head of Europe and senior fellow of the Global Policy Institute. She has written widely on international and European politics, EU-China relations, as well as on culture and defence issues. An associate contributor to the leading Robert Schuman Foundation in Paris, she was previously associate to Chatham House (the Royal Institute of International Affairs).

She has also provided strategic expertise to the European External Action Service, particularly on the development of culture in European external relations and EU-China cultural exchanges, as well as to the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly.

Prior to joining the Global Policy Institute, she worked as Senior Consultant  and Manager at French strategy firm Mars & Co. She was awarded a special prize by the French minister for culture in 2005.

Karine graduated from the Grande Ecole HEC, the London School of Economics (MSc International relations), the Bocconi University (MSc International management) and the Paris 8 University (Art history).

Her book publications include: China-EU relations and the future of European soft power (LSE Ideas, 2015), L’Art, avec pertes ou profit ? (Flammarion, 2009), Contemporary Chinese views of Europe (Chatham House, 2007)

Before graduating in 2012 from Belgium Business College with an EMBA, Wang Yanan had attended Zhejiang Media College, where in 2011, she obtained a degree of Television Broadcast Journalism.

Her work experience includes 5 years as a project supervisor in Zhejiang TV Economics and Life Channel, 2 years as a media manager at TFHG Contest Culture Management in Hangzhou, 2 years as a brands supervisor at Sky Web Technology in Hangzhou, and 1 year as Service Center Deputy Director of CBIC, an investment company headquartered in China.

CBIC is mainly set up for the development of Beautéville (the “Chinese Grasse”), a district dedicated to cosmetic industry in Zhejiang province, located near the entry of the G25 Changchun-Shenzhen Expressway, surrounded by hills to the north and rivers to the south. This China Cosmetics Production Center, part of Huzhou city, is designed to become the top cosmetics base, including R&D, production, exhibition, selling, and tourism, as well as the one-stop destination for fashion experience in Yangtze River Delta.

Wang Yang holds a Master’s Degree in Public Policy (MPP) from Harvard Kennedy School, and a Bachelor’s Degree from Renmin University of China, in between he spent a semester in Freie University of Berlin to study global politics. Since 2013 he is Ph.D. candidate at Peking University in international political economy, on the thesis of international capital movement and regulatory regime.

Dacheng Fund was founded in 1999 as one of China’s earliest mutual funds, with total Asset Under Management of 160 billion RMB by the end of 2015.

Before entering wealth management industry, Wang Yang worked at department of strategy and planning at China Minmetals Corporation, one of the premier state-owned conglomerates under the jurisdiction of the Central Government, with asset of 700 Billion RMB, 240 thousand employees and business in 60 countries around the globe.

Prior to Minmetals, he worked for Brookings Institution in Beijing, and World Bank Institute in Washington DC.

In his final year at college, Wang Yang worked with La Fondation Charles Léopold Mayer pour le Progrès de l’Homme (fph), a French NGO, to organize the 2nd China-Europe forum in 2007, to promote cross-society understanding between China and Europe. The forum involved 300 Chinese delegates and 700 European delegates, and took place in 18 cities across Europe.

Yang Kefei has served in various positions of strategy function in COFCO, China’s largest agribusiness and food company with nearly 140,000 employees all over the world and a revenue of 65 billion USD in 2015. He is General Manager of strategy of China Agri-Industries Holding (HK 0606), COFCO’s backbone subsidiary mainly in the processing, trading, and distribution of grain and oilseeds, as well as packaged and branded edible oil, rice and wheat flour. Kefei is responsible for industrial research, strategy and planning, investment management, business analysis and development, and external cooperation, etc. He is also a member of board of directors of COFCO Biochem (SZ 000930), a corn-based biofuels company listed in Shenzhen Stock Exchange.

Before he joined COFCO in 2004, Yang Kefei had served in many China’s state-key projects for the development of electricity infrastructure. Most of the projects were quite internationalized and financed by prestigious institutions such as the World Bank. His responsibility was mainly in project management and international cooperation.

Yang Kefei holds an MSc in economic development from London School of Economics in 2002 and an MPA from Harvard Kennedy School in 2008.

Yao Zheng graduated in 1999 from Wuhan University with an electronic engineering bachelor degree.

He started his career at Benq Computer and became a manager for display product series. Two years later, Yao Zheng worked as marketing supervisor at Qingdao Aucma Asee, which was a start-up enterprise created by a group of young people. Aucma Asee was the first Chinese high-tech company capable of designing and manufacturing projectors. After three years efforts, the company established a national sales channel, and was successfully acquired by a public entreprise.

Yao Zheng joined another entrepreneurial company, which introduced a series of radar speed detecting products from Germany. The products acquired a significant market share within 4 years, and greatly helped China efficiently lower the number of highway accidents in road traffic area.

In 2007, he co-founded a financial technology company aimed to service small and micro enterprises. The company utilized advanced technologies to help these SMEs meet the credit needs that cannot be satisfied from banks. After six years’ development, such information system covered over 300,000 SMEs in six provinces in China, and cooperated with banks and insurance companies to provide credit services for SMEs.

From 2012, Yao Zheng entered public services area, and started as the Chief Representative of Hong Kong Banking Institute in Beijing. At this position, he helped establish the annual conference for high-ranking officials of Hong Kong and China. In 2013, Yao joined China Banking Association, and joined the founding of China Banking Institute. CBI is mainly in charge of the certification and continuing education of Chinese banking practitioners. At the same time, he also made great efforts in promoting the development of Green Finance in China, and acquired common recognition by all participating parties.

Yao Zheng is also active in public welfare area. He is the advisor to China Children and Teenagers’ Fund in its eWeilai Project. The project aims to help children’s better growth in reading, sporting and communicating nationally.

Tim Ye started his career by working with Mr. Shui Junyi at CCTV for 6 years. As the Coordinator for Global Leaders and Celebrities Interview with Mr. Shui Junyi in CCTV Global Watch since 2009, he was in charge of Comprehensive collaboration with Foreign Embassies, UN Offices, IAEA Program Planners and worked as Interpreter for Exclusive Interview in Global Watch. He coordinated and produced more than 30 top interviews with foreign leaders, head of states since 2009, including: UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon (June 2013, Beijing), UK Prime Minister David Cameron (Nov. 2010, Beijing; Nov. 2013, Shanghai) and The former Secretary of State Dr. Kissinger (3 times in 2010-2011), etc. Especially, in March 2013, Tim Ye stationed in Iraq and filmed a documentary about Post Iraq War with Mr. Shui. During his visit in Iraq, he coordinated with Iraqi Prime Minister’s Office and co-arranged an exclusive interview for CCTV with the then Prime Minister Nouri al Maliki in his Excellency’s Residence, ahead of BBC, CNN or Al Jazeera.

In April 2015, Tim Ye joined a 10 men crew and drove from Beijing towards the West along the Silk Road as the producer from Youku Tudou Inc, which is one of the most prominent and leading online media groups in China. Within the program “On The Road”, he successfully arranged and produced “Bamiyan Buddha Resurrection” in early June 2015, which was widely broadcasted by CCTV XinWenLianBo, CNN, The Atlantic Journal, Guardian, The Independence, BBC, Daily Telegraph, AFP, UNESCO, etc. “It was an unusual moment when Afghanistan was being noticed by world through good news”, said by Nancy Dupree, director of Afghanistan Centre at Kabul University.

In July 2015, he led the “On The Road” crew to cooperate with a Silicon Valley digital cultural heritage preservation company CyArk and Iraqi National Museum to use an architecture laser scanner to collect 3D physical data from Ziggurat of Ur, a 4000 years old Sumerian heritage. By the donation of data & files to CyArk and Iraq National Museum, Tim Ye and his team became the first ones to save Sumerian heritage by digital way during the severe war time in Iraq.

From April 2016 to December 2017, Tim Ye has been a producer in Content Production Department in Online Media Group of Tencent.

In 2018, he became the Country Manager of the most leading European MCN company Zoomin.TV in China. He established Content Cooperation with Baidu, Tencent, Youku, Toutiao (Bytedance), developping a new business model for Zoomin.TV monetization in China. In the meanwhile, he established an amazing China stories short format series  in cooperation with Baidu. Zoomin.TV has cooperated with Tencent Video on their first long format reality show “Amazing Drone Race”, which made Zoomin.TV the first MCN who developed long format series in China.

Yun Fei graduated in 2003 from University of Essex with a Computer Science – Software engineering bachelor degree, in 2005 from London School of Economics and Political Science with a Regional Economics master degree and in 2006 from University of Essex with a Finance master degree.

He started his career at CMC Markets (UK), became an Analyst and foreign exchange trader. After two years, he was appointed as Assistant President of CMC Markets (China).

In 2008, Yun Fei became Assistant President and enterprises management DEPT manager of Huajian Group, Chinese Academy of Sciences (National computer language laboratory).

In 2009, he Jointed Foreign Economic Cooperation Office MEP and was appointed deputy director of the Center of Environmental Finance Services. CEFS’s mission is mainly to promote the development of Green Finance in China and aims to set up the Environmental Fund with CBRC (China Banking Regulatory Commission) along with other financial institutions. The objective is to promote resource integration and structural adjustment of environmental friendly industries, to optimize the eco-development and improve the competitive capacity of related industries. CESF created a cooperative mechanism with Bank, Governments and Investment institutions and cooperated with China Develop Bank, Local governments and environmental protection agencies. FECO builds new mechanisms for environmental financing “Bank-Government-Investment” Bond Fund for small and medium enterprises.

Born in 1973, Zheng Yu is a lawyer with over 17 years of experience in cross-border commercial law practices, focusing on FDI, cross-border M&A and dispute resolution. He is a partner of the renowned JunHe LLP.

Zheng Yu joined JunHe on 1 May 2014. He started his legal practice in 1999 at a local law firm in Guangzhou, where he worked for five years and developed extensive experience in corporate and business-related dispute resolution. In 2003, as one of the two selected Chinese young lawyers for the “Chinese Young Lawyer Training Program in France”, he won a French government scholarship to attend a professional training program at EFB, the Paris Bar School. In 2004, Zheng Yu joined the renowned international law firm Gide Loyrette Nouel (“Gide”), and worked at its offices in Paris and Beijing for ten years. He became a partner of Gide in March 2011, and has since then been managing its Beijing office as a co-head.

In his career, Zheng Yu represented many multinational companies in their Greenfield investments, M&A deals and complex dispute resolution cases in China, and also assisted large Chinese state-owned and private enterprises in carrying out outbound investment projects. He has been continuously listed by Chambers Asia Pacific and Asia Pacific Legal 500 as one of the leading dispute resolution lawyers in China.

Zheng Yu is the co-author of Private Equity & Strategic Mergers & Acquisitions section of European Business in China Position Paper (2012/2013 and 2013/2014), the co-author of Participation of the Private Sector in Public Utilities and Infrastructure in China: the Development of Concessions, published by IBLJ (International Business Law Journal) (June 2013), as well as the author of several articles published by other professional magazines such as Asian-Mena Counsel and Asian Banking & Finance.
